Watching the news feed on Twitter with great interest on the America elections - 3rd day of counting and Biden has flipped Georgia ...  Yay ... which he needed to win. I hope America next year starts to get back to a more stable country than it has been the last 4 years.

Finally, after months of disrupted sleep, I have reverted back to sleeping 12am - 8am.

I have been going to bed at midnight for at least 30 years and waking at 7am.
Since I retired 4 years ago I now wake at 8am. New normal.

But since I returned from my overseas holiday in October my sleep pattern has been erratic, only getting 3-4 hours longest period and laying awake till all hours. Since Christmas I got in the habit if I was awake for more than 1 hour I would get up and potter around the house or read.

No energy and no inclination to do any thing during the day.

Sunday, 5 April 2020

I seem to have skipped March and now we are in April.

The COVID19 virus has taken the world by storm affecting our everyday life.
How long it is going to last is anyones guess. So STAY HOME and it will pass. Eventually.
Meanwhile be kind to yourself ... mentally it will be a challenge so occupy yourself with things to do.

Read ... Go for Walks ... Skype with family and friends. Your garden may needs some work.
I am hearing a lot about the app ZOOM to video conference ... just remember to log off. : )

Gospers Mountain Fires

Thank goodness, the Gospers Mountain Mega Fires west of where I lived is now contained. So hopefully the constant smoke covering the sky for the last 3 months will disappear.  My body clock is all out of alignment, I go to bed usual time midnight and don't get to sleep till 3 or 4 am even when I don't have a catnap during the day. I am over it. I went to bed at 10.30pm last night and here I am a 2.25am still awake.

At least I am retired now, I couldn't imagine trying to work while surrounded by smoke. It has been quite bad and am looking forward to seeing a lovely blue sky again.

The 512,00 hectare fire was started by a single lightning strike we have lost millions of animals: kangaroos, koalas, birds and reptiles. Over 2,000 homes and buildings have been destroyed in New South Wales alone.

The fires are still burning ... Kangaroo Island is aflame

Bushfires in my State of New South Wales, Australia.

We have had continuous bushfires in my State and Victoria, Tasmania and Queensland since Mid October, 2019. Our governments both Federal and State have only now (New Years) named it a National disaster.

Our Prime Minister and our NSW Emergency minister thought it would be ok to holiday overseas while our country burned. our state minister is still absent holidaying in the UK and our PM only returned because he was getting bad press.

We have a mountainous range that runs the full length of the East Coast from Victoria through New South Wales to Queensland and all along it is in flames.

The bush fires have generated their own weather system with lightning strikes adding to the destruction.
